Swartland Municipality: By-law published relating to control of undertakings that sell liquor to the public

The Swartland municipality has updated the “By-law relating to the control of undertakings that sell liquor to the public” last published back in 2015.

The By-Law applies to all on and off consumption liquor licensed establishments located within the boundary of the municipality (towns of Malmesbury, Moorreesburg, Abbotsdale, Riebeek West, Riebeek Kasteel, Darling, Yzerfontein, Koringberg, Chatsworth, Kalbaskraal and Riverlands)

Amendments and or additions to the 2015 publication are:

  • Trading days and hours for sale and consumption on and off the licensed premises
  • Prevention of illegal sale of liquor and seizure of liquor
  • Display of signage and other obligations of the licensee
  • Safety and Security
  • Liquor premises weapon free
  • Nuisances
