Call for Nominations: Chairpersons for Sector Education and Training Authorities (2025–2030)

Dr NP Nkabane, Minister of Higher Education and Training, has issued a call for nominations for the appointment of Chairpersons of Accounting Authorities for 21 Sector Education and Training Authorities (SETAs). The selected individuals will serve a five-year term, from 1 April 2025 to 31 March 2030, in accordance with the Skills Development Act, 1998 (Act No. 97 of 1998), as amended.

This opportunity is open to suitably qualified and experienced candidates with an NQF Level 8 qualification. Applicants should demonstrate sector-specific expertise, technical experience, and leadership capabilities essential for the effective functioning of the SETAs and the Skills Development System.

Nominations are invited for the following SETAs, referenced as per the corresponding Ref. No.:

  1. Agricultural SETA (AGRISETA): AGR2020
  2. Banking SETA (BANKSETA): BANK2020
  3. Culture, Arts, Tourism, Hospitality, and Sports SETA (CATHSSETA): CATH2024
  4. Construction SETA (CETA): CET2024
  5. Chemical Industries SETA (CHIETA): CHIET2024
  6. Education, Training, and Development Practices SETA (ETDPSETA): ETDP2024
  7. Energy and Water SETA (EWSETA): EW2024
  8. Finance and Accounting Services SETA (FASSET): FAS2024
  9. Food and Beverages SETA (FOODBEV): FB2024
  10. Fibre Processing and Manufacturing SETA (FP&MSETA): FPM2024
  11. Health and Welfare SETA (HWSETA): HW2024

Eligibility and Application Details

Nominees must submit a detailed application, including:

  • Motivation letter
  • Signed acceptance of the nomination
  • Certified copies of qualifications and a SAQA verification report
  • Criminal record clearance from SAPS
  • Certified ID copy
  • Comprehensive CV
  • Declaration of interest
