Theewaterskloof Municipality Liquor Trading Days and Hours By-Law

The Theewaterskloof Municipality has amended the Liquor Trading Days and Hours By-Law published back in May 2015.

The By-Law applies to all retail on and off consumption liquor licenced establishments operating within the boundary of the municipality which is situated in the Overberg. The district comprises towns such as Caledon, Grabouw, Villiersdorp, Genadendal, Greyton, Riviersonderend, Botrivier, and Tesselaarsdal.

The By-Law provides for, amongst others –

The application; Trading days and hours for the sale and consumption of liquor on and off the licensed premises; Application for extended trading hours; Appeals; Offences & penalties and Notices and other documents.

NB – It should be noted that there are a considerable number of amendments when compared to the 2015 By-Law. In order to ensure compliance, it is recommended that members read through and familiarise themselves with the entire 2022 document but more specifically Chapter 2 sections 4 and 5 providing for trading days and hours for the sale and consumption of liquor on and off the licensed premises.
