The Green Tourism Incentive Programme (GTIP) application window is open

The Department of Tourism has announced that the 9th application window for the Green Tourism Incentive Programme (GTIP) is now open. From 25 January until 31 March 2024, eligible tourism enterprises are invited to apply for this beneficial programme.

The GTIP is a resource efficiency grant funding mechanism that encourages privately owned tourism enterprises to adopt responsible tourism practices. The programme assists enterprises to reduce the cost of investing in energy and water efficient operations, which will lower their operational costs, and facilitate increased competitiveness and operational sustainability in the tourism sector in the long term.

The Industrial Development Corporation (IDC) implements and administers the programme on behalf of the Department and all applications and approvals are managed by the IDC.

An overview of the programme as well as qualifying criteria can be found below.

GTIP applicants should submit their application forms and supporting documents directly to the IDC. More information, application forms and guidelines are available on www.idc.co.za, enquiries can be directed to gtip@idc.co.za and applications forwarded to GTIPapplications@idc.co.za
