Research on the impact of COVID-19 on the tourism industry

The Department of Tourism has contracted HS BUSINESS SOLUTIONS to conduct an impact evaluation of COVID-19 on the tourism sector.

The evaluation aims to determine the extent to which tourism enterprises and workers in the tourism sector have been affected by restrictions due to the pandemic.

Furthermore, the evaluation will assess the extent to which enterprises were aware of the financial support being provided in the country by both public and private institutions and how they used the financial assistance received. The outcomes of the impact evaluation will assist the department in developing appropriate strategies, interventions, and plans that will seek to support tourism enterprises, especially small, micro and medium enterprises.

This evaluation involves two surveys, the first to be conducted in the third quarter of 2021 (1 July to 30 September 2021) and the last quarter (1 January 2022 to 31 March 2022).

Your input is important to determine the impact of COVID-19 on the tourism sectors. Members are requested to share their input by completing the surveys and allowing HS Business Solutions to conduct interviews, with you.

Please note that responses are anonymous and will be treated with confidentiality. All information collected will remain strictly confidential and the analysis of data and input from stakeholders will under no circumstance be on an individual level.
