NightsBridge Celebrates 20 Years of Empowering the Independent Accommodation Sector

NightsBridge, a leading provider of hospitality solutions, marked its 20th year anniversary with a celebratory cocktail event in Cape Town. The event brought together clients and partners to pay tribute to the collaborative efforts that have shaped the company’s journey over the past two decades.

Humble Beginnings to Industry Leader

Founded in 2004 and operating out of a back room in Hout Bay, NightsBridge has grown from 10 clients to now serve over 10,000 clients in the small to medium-sized accommodation sector. The company’s initial product delivered real-time availability, then payment handling for guesthouses, B&Bs, and independent hotels. Over the years, NightsBridge has expanded to provide access to larger markets both locally and internationally through partnerships with platforms like Booking.com, TravelGround/Lekkeslaap, and Airbnb. Looking ahead, the company’s clients are expected to process nearly 3 million bookings in 2024.

Organic Growth Fueled by Customer Satisfaction

What makes NightsBridge’s 20-year milestone particularly remarkable is the organic nature of the company’s growth, driven by satisfied customers: according to Hajo Kowalke – Hajo’s Lodge & Tours:  “As one of the first clients, we received perfect service for almost 20 years, well done NightsBridge team and congratulations!”

Delivering Innovative Solutions, Maintaining Personal Touch

NightsBridge’s journey has been marked by its ability to continually evolve in order to better bridge the gap between the client and their guest, particularly in the areas of payments and technology. Despite its growth into a big company, NightsBridge has retained its client-centric focus, delivering personalised local service to its customers with real world support.

“Backbone of the industry” – Paul de Waal,  Wetu   Well done, you have come so far!! My first recollection of Theresa (and NightsBridge) was a Stellenbosch Tourism event where we had both been invited to talk probably around 2009). The room was filled with many BnB owners who were just not ready to give up their paper-based reservation books…..there were a lot of blank or confused faces in the room as she spoke. It is incredible what you have achieved since then. Congrats to Theresa for her tenacity and the NightsBridge team for building such a great product (the backbone to the African accommodation industry) and fulfilling Theresa’s promises.   All the best for the next 20 years:)

A Homegrown, World-Class Success Story

The founders, Theresa and Neil Emerick, and the NightsBridge team celebrated this milestone, recognising the collaborative efforts that have shaped the company’s path. NightsBridge’s story stands as a testament to the power of consistency, commitment, and service, establishing it as a homegrown, world-class success story in the hospitality industry.
