FEDHASA Cape Joins Strategic Dialogue to Strengthen India–South Africa Trade Ties

FEDHASA Cape, represented by Chairperson Lee-Anne Singer, was honoured to attend a high-level engagement hosted by the Consulate General of India in Cape Town, in collaboration with Invest Cape Town, focused on bolstering trade and investment ties between India and the Western Cape.

The event, held at the Taj Cape Town, was hosted by Ms Ruby Jaspreet, Consul General of India, Cape Town, and Mr Lance Greyling, Director of Economic Development and Investment at the City of Cape Town – both of whom set a strong tone for collaboration rooted in shared values and historic linkages.

Consul General Ruby Jaspreet highlighted the strengths of the Indian economy, making it an attractive destination for trade and investment.

  • Mr Clayton Williams, CEO of CapeBPO
  • Mr Rahul Jain, CEO of Peach Payments

Ms Ruby Jaspreet noted: “India and Cape Town share strong economic and cultural ties. This event was aimed at fostering deeper and newer investments and encouraging partnerships in sectors like technology, tourism and film production – driving mutual economic growth and innovation.”

“India and the Western Cape share strengths in culture, innovation and enterprise,” said Lee-Anne Singer. “Tourism partnerships in hospitality, tech and film can drive growth and create much-needed jobs.”

  • Opportunities for Bollywood film production in Cape Town
  • Creating scalable digital health solutions from the Global South
  • Fast-growing interest in Cape Town as a base for Business Process Outsourcing – especially in travel, finance and retail – contributing R23 billion annually to the city’s economy
