SAVE THE DATE: Western Cape Climate Change Indaba on 8 March 2024

Minister Anton Bredell (Western Cape Minister for Local Government, Environmental Affairs and Development Planning) and Minister Ivan Meyer (Western Cape Minister for Agriculture) are jointly hosting an engagement with representatives of the private sector on 8 March 2024 in Cape Town (or environs). You have been recommended by colleagues in the Western Cape Government to be alerted to this opportunity.

The Western Cape Climate Change Indaba builds on an internal government workshop hosted in December 2023, and seeks to elicit contributions from stakeholders in the private sector, on how to jointly achieve the provincial net zero and climate resilient vision, as identified in the Western Cape Climate Change Response Strategy: Vision 2050 and Implementation Plan (documents available at https://www.westerncape.gov.za/eadp/).

The event is free of charge, but places are limited so it is essential that you let us know if you would like to attend or provide contact details of others who you think would be keen to engage with the provincial government on this important topic.

Please Save the Date in your calendar if you have not already done so and register your interest here at this link or email deadp.climatechange@westerncape.gov.za by 8th February 2024. This will be followed by an official invite for the event taking place on the 8th of March 2024 in or around Cape Town. A Concept Note and event details will be circulated in due course to those who have registered their interest however seats are limited so don’t wait too late.

Your participation would be a valuable addition to the event. Thank you for your attention to this matter, and we look forward to the possibility of welcoming you to the event.
