The Federated Hospitality Association of Southern Africa (Fedhasa) has announced the appointment of Tshifhiwa Tshivhengwa as CEO, heading up its national office. Fedhasa chairman and CEO of Magelevendze Lodge, Eddy Khosa, says: “We are pleased to confirm the appointment of Tshifhiwa Tshivhengwa as CEO of our national office. He brings with him over 14 years of tourism and hospitality-related experience and will a great asset to the organisation”.
Tshivhengwa officially took up the position in June and has spent the past two months familiarising himself with the organisation and its members and industry stakeholders. He is a graduate of the School of Tourism and Hospitality at the University of Johannesburg and also has an IMM degree in marketing communication. He is currently studying towards an MSc Degree in Strategic Planning.
His experience includes tourism marketing, sales, corporate travel management, project management, and strategic planning. He spent six years in the US where he worked for Myriad Marketing and South African Tourism, promoting the country to the Northern American market. On his return to South Africa, he has worked for organisations such as Protours, HRG Rennies Travel and SARS.
Tshivhengwa’s vision for Fedhasa is to strengthen the association’s relationship with all stakeholders and reinforce it as the voice on matters affecting the hospitality industry.
