Competition Commission releases provisional findings on unfair competition in our industry space

The Online Intermediation Platform Market Inquiry (“OIPMI”) published its provisional findings and remedies in its provisional report on 13 July 2022.

The provisional findings and remedies may impact online travel and accommodation platforms, and search engines and could also impact travel and accommodation service providers.

FEDHASA members are invited to engage on their views regarding OIPMI’s provisional findings and remedies in a written response, or as an alternative, in an in-camera (confidential) meeting.

Furthermore, the inquiry may offer any clarification and/or insights behind its provisional findings and remedies.

Should you opt for the confidential In-camera session, the inquiry is available until 7 September 2022 between 10h00-17h00.

Please contact Noluthando Jokazi at oipmi@compcom.co.za or Aphiwe Nanto at AphiweN@compcom.co.za to secure a meeting date and time.

Alternatively, your business is welcome to make written submissions to the inquiry and submit them to oipmi@compcom.co.za by 7 September 2022.
