Passionate host sites are requested to collaborate in offering aspiring learners the chance to complete a comprehensive 12-month hospitality learnership. This programme aims to equip learners with the necessary skills, knowledge, and hands-on experience required to excel in the dynamic world of hospitality.

What we require from our Host Sites:

  • Adequate Facilities: Provide learners with access to the necessary facilities and resources to complete the work integrated components of the learnership.
  • Supportive Environment: Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment, encouraging learners to thrive and develop their skills.
  • Experienced Staff: Assign experienced mentors or supervisors to guide and assist learners during their practical training.
  • Compliance: Ensure that all training activities comply with the relevant industry standards and regulations.

The objective of this Labour Activation Programme (LAP) is focussed on job creation and labour market re-entry in the hospitality and tourism industries.  In terms of this programme, candidates are funded by the Department of Labour, UIF in respect of their stipends (R2,000 per person per month) for the duration of the programme (12 months’ work experience required).  The learners are required to work a minimum of 840 notional hours during their practical work experience and are required to attend 2 days training per month.

The learners will be participating in one of the following learnerships;

  • NC: Professional Cookery, SAQA ID: 14111, NQF Level 4
  • NC: Fast Food Services, SAQA ID: 14115, NQF Level 3
  • NC: Food & Beverage Services, SAQA ID: 14113, NQF Level 4

Suitable host employers are required in the following areas:

  • Gauteng,
  • Cape Town,
  • Durban, and
  • Pietermaritzburg
